Today Show’s Celebrity Fitness Guru Kathy Kaehler Hits the Ground Running With Cover Appearance on April/May Family Energy Magazine

Evanston, IL – Family Energy: Your Guide to Raising Healthy Kids, announces that Fitness Trainer to the Stars and regular Today Show Contributor Kathy Kaehler graces the cover of its April/May issue, on newsstands now. Kaehler is pictured with her husband, horse racing syndicate owner Billy Koch, and her three active boys: twins Cooper and Payton, 8, and Walker, 4.

“Fitness and health are not just a part of Kathy’s job, it’s a lifestyle choice for her and her family,” says Elisa Ast All, MSJ, editor-in-chief of Family Energy. “She understands that activity can be incorporated into daily living quite easily. Exercise shouldn’t be a chore when it’s something the whole family can enjoy together.”

When Kaehler hasn’t flown from her L.A. home to New York on one of her regular Today Show monthly segments, she can be found training her famous celebrity clients, including new mom Julia Roberts, teaching an exclusive class in her community, promoting her new book, Kathy Kaehler’s Celebrity Workouts: How to Get a Hollywood Body in Just 30 Minutes a Day or starring in her new DVDs: Kathy Kaehler Basics: Workout Class (a step aerobics session) or Kathy Kaehler Basics: Total Fitness Workout (a cardio, strength training and flexibility program).

“My family lives the Family Energy lifestyle, so it’s a thrill to be on the cover of the magazine,” Kaehler says. “Family Energy provides fun and practical solutions for parents who want to raise their kids to make healthy choices.”

Kaehler notes that the Family Energy lifestyle is about striking a balance. “I want families to understand that there are trade-offs for everything and health and fitness can be achieved by the whole family if everyone participates and makes it an activity and not exercise, which sometimes has a negative connotation,” she says. “Whether it’s jumping rope or running to the end of the road, that’s activity and fun and sometimes even competitive. Kids get a kick out of it.”

Kaehler continues that balance also can be achieved when it comes to feeding the family. “It’s all about the choices you make,” she says. “Kids aren’t always going to eat what you want them to. I do try to focus on food in its most natural state and believe that everything in moderation is fine.”

Kaehler cooks for her family several nights each week and her advice is to keep it simple – always add a vegetable to each meal and talk about what “colors” everyone has eaten for the day. In the April/May issue of Family Energy, Kaehler even offers up some of her best smoothie recipes that are delicious and hold a lot of nutritional value. Additionally, she offers some of her best-kept celebrity workout secrets that don’t require spending money on the latest fitness gadgets.

The April/May issue of Family Energy also features 10-minute workouts that will get the whole family toned in no time and a spring risotto recipe that will put a bounce in anyone’s step. Additionally, a special report on how to prevent eating disorders in children is important for caregivers to read and take note.
